more followings.................

I am following Jesus to Ghana to assist the Ghanian's in whatever capacity is required of me. From this experience I hope to expand my awareness of others & myself. I'm told it will be a life altering experience...not sure what that really means. Is it discovering what really is important in life, reprioritizing my life, or just because this is the time to give back.

I’m following Jesus to Ghana. Again. It is an "un-looked for" blessing, a gift. It is a chance to experience joy among some of the world’s poorest people, who are only poor in things, but rich beyond measure in soul. It is a chance to pour myself out completely, and be refilled with the glory of God. It is a chance to see Jesus in the black eyes of a beautiful child. I pray she sees Him in my blue ones. It is a chance to introduce my Ghanaian friends to my Canadian friends and watch them all grow. It is all this and so much more. Thank you Jesus for leading me home.

Hope

I'm following Jesus to Ghana to help build my religion in a different way, hoping it will bring me closer with Him. With following Jesus and working with the people in this group I hope to regain the ability to have trust in people and them have trust with me.

=====================================

I'm following Jesus to Ghana because this is the first time I have heard him ask me to do something. I don't understand it (yet), but I feel a need and I'm going to try and help.

I'm following Jesus to Ghana to share my Christian faith with others in a different culture and environment which is unfamiliar to me now. I hope to learn and grow spiritually through this experience, to see similarities and also differences, a chance to say "yes" that is so but I did not consider it that way before, a new way of looking at my beliefs. I believe faith must continue to grow through education and experience in order to remain vital.
This mission is a huge opportunity for learning and growth and a chance to give of one's gifts and abilities to help others. I feel strongly that the Lord wants me to do this and therefore I will be given what is needed to enable me to do the work He is asking of me.

I'm Following Jesus to Ghana...

Each of these statements were written by team members as a way to articulate why they go - more will follow soon.....

I'm following Jesus to Ghana to make a difference - for myself to grow and learn and to leave a lasting love for our efforts to our Ghanaian friends.
David

I'm following Jesus to Ghana
as I was asked by him
to leave behind what I think I know
to share my gifts and help others grow.
He'll show me how to make leaps of faith
and leave behind a better place.
I'm following Jesus to Ghana
and I'm certain it will change everything!
Ellen

I am following Jesus to Ghana because Jesus is in
Ghana and I want to be where Jesus is. Since Jesus is
everywhere it could be argued that I don't really need
to go to Ghana. I can find Him here in Cobourg. True.

But suppose Jesus was allowing you to participate in
an adventure, a mission in which He wants to use your
talents and gifts in a very unique and special way,
and in a special place. Now there is reason to go to
Ghana.

Is is my expectation that each one of has been
called to serve in Ghana to do something only we can
do, and more importantly He wants to meet us over
there, in that special place, to show us His love for
all mankind.

So, I am following Jesus to Ghana because when I get
there He will be waiting there to show me what He has
for me to do.

What He has for me to do in Ghana can only be done
in Ghana.

Psalm 36: 9 "For with thee is the fountain of life: in
thy light shall we see light"

Luke

"I am following Jesus to Ghana to give of myself as a team member of Northumberland Youth for Christ under the banner of St. Paul's Church, Brighton. I feel I have been called to join 14 other members of this team to work alongside the Ghanaians. I know I cannot do this alone so I am preparing with this team to work hard and be of assistance with the finishing of the Youth Leadership Training Centre projects in Kokrobite. I hope to bring to the people of Ghana, West Africa, the very best I can offer them!"
Mary

I am following Jesus to Ghana to participate in the transformation of a generation.

Daryl

We will update this as the rest of the team submit their writing.

Thanks for visiting.
